You have found out that your child is on the autism spectrum–he or she has Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild form of autism. Autistic kids can be on the odd side of normal, or they can be pretty seriously impaired. Your child with Asperger’s is somewhere in the middle. Now, how can you help your child move toward being more normal? Work to aid his self-confidence, and shield him from those who would discourage him.
How do you increase his self-confidence? You can encourage his musical gifts. He may have exceptional musical talent–people on the autism spectrum often do. He may even have perfect pitch. If your child can enjoy music, or even excel at it, it will give him joy for the rest of his life. Now, how do you find the right teacher? The typical piano teacher may be intimidated by your child. But a music therapist wouldn’t be intimidated. Or perhaps you have a family member or family friend who knows the child and has the patience to teach him. You can build a requirement for daily practicing into your system of rewards for your child. You need to create such a system to encourage your child to do chores and homework.
Children with Aspergers need to learn social skills–they don’t come naturally. It is your job as a parent to find teachable moments and use them well. These moments may not start arriving until middle school, when the child is becoming more aware of those around him. He may figure out that he is isolated, and may not like it. When this happens, it’s your turn to pull him aside and tell him how to replay a particular social situation, this time with a better outcome.
He may be ready for:
* Social skills groups with other Aspies taught by a professional. (Speech therapists are stepping into this need; so are social workers specializing in coaching kids with learning disabilities.)
* Teach him skills yourself, planning the session out beforehand. You can set aside time every day to work on conversation skills, for example.
* Sending him to a special-needs school that will help with this. I believe that mainstreaming the child without any support is not helpful. These children need careful coaching on how to interact with others, and protection from bullying.
Speaking of bullying, this is one of the most damaging situations for your child’s feelings of self worth.
An Asperger’s child in regular school may be the target of teasing and bullying. It is your job to try to make sure that isn’t happening. You may want to volunteer at your child’s school, to find out what is happening. If your child has an aide assigned to him, you can talk to the aide. You can ask the aide to help protect your child from teasing, as well. Negative teasing often goes unpunished in our culture. But you need to find a way to defend your child from these ill effects.
* Homeschooling may allow you to protect your child from teasing. You can find out all about it on the Internet.
* A private school for children with special needs may be available for you. Such a school probably tries to control most interactions between students.
So remember, it’s your job to protect your child’s self-esteem.

* Question: How do you test whether or not you are fertile?
On your first visit to a fertility specialist you will receive an examination to determine to what extent the infertility problem exists. The fertility specialist usually begins with a physical exam. You will most likely be asked to provide a history of the medical and sexual histories of your partner and yourself.
After these examinations, your physician will begin to run some tests. Men usually undergo semen specimen tests where the sperm will be evaluated based on its quantity per ejaculation, its shape, and its movement (aka motility). Sometimes, other tests are also conducted such as hormone tests.
For a woman, the physician will try to discover whether she is ovulating properly every month. To determine this, she can either record her temperature every morning and her cervical mucous texture, or she can use a home ovulation test kit. Checking ovulation may also require some other tests. These tests may include blood tests for hormone levels and ultrasound tests on the ovaries.
* Question: What kinds of medicines do doctors use for treating women’s infertility?
If a woman is experiencing ovulation problems, the drug Clomiphene Citrate is often prescribed. It is commonly used for women who are experiencing Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or other disorders that cause ovulation problems.
For women who are having troubles ovulating due to problems with the pituitary glands, hMG (human menopausal gonadotropin) is prescribed. This medication encourages a woman to ovulate and acts directly on her ovaries.
In addition to hMG, women experiencing infertility problems may be prescribed medications such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (Gn-RH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). You will most likely receive these medications in the form of an injection.
Metformin is often used for treating women who have high levels of male hormones which create complications with ovulating. It is common for Metformin to be used along with FSH.
Another commonly prescribed medicine, Bromocriptine is prescribed for women who have problems ovulating caused by high levels of prolactin, the hormone responsible for lactation.
* Question: Will my insurance plan cover treatment of infertility?
Even though there are insurance plans that cover infertility treatments, such coverage is generally dependent on where you live and the type of insurance policy you have. Presently, there are 12 states that have enacted laws requiring insurance providers to cover some form of infertility diagnosis and treatments, either fully or partially. These states are:
- California
- Texas
- Connecticut
- Hawaii
- Rhode Island
- Connecticut
- Massachusetts
- Montana
- Illinois
- Ohio
- Montana
- Texas
The laws enacted in each state may differ in their scope and the items that must be covered. For more information regarding insurance coverage on infertility diagnosis and treatment you can go to the website of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and click on the State Infertility Insurance Laws link.

There is nothing wrong with trying to limit your child’s exposure to chemicals. This is why a lot of parents now want to know about any home remedy for head louse problems. Before you use one though, you need to take note of a couple of things.
What Remedies are There?
We’ve never lack for methods of home remedy for head louse solutions. You can opt for manual lice combing or nit picking. You can also go for various recipes that have been traditionally used and mixed to get rid of lice. Your home remedy for head louse problems can be made of such ingredients as vinegar, mayonnaise, garlic, almonds, limejuice and olive oil. Each of these ingredients can be used alone or mixed with other substances depending on the home remedy for head louse recipe that you have. The basic idea behind these remedies is that they are able to smother live lice.
Where to Get Remedies
For sure, you wouldn’t find your home remedy for head louse solution in your local pharmacy or store. These recipes usually come form older people who have had to deal with lice in kids before chemical solutions were made. Of course, you can always check the internet for a great variety of home remedy for head louse recipes.
Be certain that you are on a reliable site and preferably know some people who have used the specific remedy that you would like to try. Home made remedies do not follow a mixing standard and anyone can just mix something up and claim that it is a home remedy for head louse solution.
Effectiveness
There is also no clear evidence of their effectiveness since home remedies are clinically untested and come in a wide variety of mixes and applications. We do know though that certain substances have been used effectively by people in the past but there has been no clear standard on how much should be applied, how often a substance should be used and what else the substance should be mixed with. Again, it would make perfect sense to look for some people who have successfully tried a home remedy for head louse solution before using one.
Being Careful
Natural Substances - Most people think that natural substances are safer. It may be true that natural solutions cause fewer complications and present lesser risks. It doesn’t mean though that they are completely safe. You could ask a doctor first about a natural substance before using it on your child. This is especially important if your child is very sensitive or has allergies of some other medical condition.
What to Do if It Doesn’t Work
Combination of Methods - Most of the time, you would have to combine a home remedy for head louse solution with manual combing and nit picking to make it even more effective. You also need to carefully and regularly monitor your child’s hair for renewed infestations.
Last Resort - When every natural method fails, you may have to turn to other possible solutions probably even including chemical treatment. You could ask your doctor about details on product treatment. You should also always use any product only as indicated to prevent adverse reactions.

Babysitter search can be a time-consuming and frustrating task. Do you even know where to begin your search? There are a couple of good places where you could start looking for a sitter. Here are some of them:
Neighborhood
Start in your community. Some of your teen neighbors may be willing to baby sit for you. You could also put up an ad on your front lawn and wait for community members to apply. Another way would be to personally ask your neighbors if they know of any good sitters. Many parents swear that this is by far still the best way to get a good sitter. Your neighbor can vouch for the ability and character of your sitter. Then again, even neighbors can make mistakes. They may not be fully aware of a sitter’s entire background or history.
Schools
Colleges and high schools are also good source of potential sitters. Many students on these levels need some extra cash for school needs and extra expenses. Advertising in a few online or offline school boards would guarantee that you would have more than a handful of prospects.
Most likely, students with good records are least likely to have criminal records. Otherwise they wouldn’t be in school. Nonetheless, you should still carefully screen applicants from schools to determine their character and ability.
Agencies
Agencies for Babysitters - Your babysitter search can also begin in agencies. Many agencies have been around for decades. They would therefore have a lot of experience in gathering good sitters. Agencies also provide you with the option of stay in or stay out sitters. They usually conduct background investigations on their applicants to ensure that you get a good sitter. Agencies however typically cost a lot. This is especially if you need to get a stay in sitter from another region or country. You may have to spend a thousand dollars or more to get a good sitter.
Advertisements
Classified Ads - People who wish to offer their services typically advertise. You can look through newspapers, yellow pages and even online job posts to find a baby sitter in your area. You would be hiring a virtual stranger though. This means that if you get a sitter through an advertisement, you would have to spend a great amount of time interviewing, screening and scrutinizing your prospects. You can never be too careful when it comes to the safety of your kids.
Online Services
Services online are like agencies. They have databases of sitter prospects that you can choose from. Many modern online services however charge cheaper. For a monthly or yearly membership fee, you can get a stay in or stay out sitter of your choice. These services also typically conduct background checks on potential sitters and let parents personally interview prospects. You also benefit from a number of parent resources that can give you advice on dealing with sitters.
These places are just some of the possible good sources that can help you in your babysitter search. You can choose the method that is most convenient for you. You should however always put your child’s safety and welfare first. Pick the option where you are most certain to get a reliable sitter.

Every parent has expectations of their children. These expectations are formed unconsciously from our own wants and desires. They are important. Expectations form the foundation for many things in our lives.
As parents, you have to pause and evaluate your expectations from your children once in a while to see if they are reasonable or not. It is, of course, very difficult to come to any definite conclusion about them, but you must try to have positive and reasonable expectations otherwise there will be frustration for all concerned.
To come to any reasonable conclusion about the reasonableness of your expectations you will have to do some research - inside and outside. Outside, compare your expectations with others; don’t compare your children with other’s children. Look into what the established child behavior guidelines are for your child’s age. If a child at one is not expected to construct a full sentence, don’t expect it from your child.
And, inside, look at yourself objectively, or put yourself in the shoes of the child and you will get a fairly good idea whether it is you or your children who are being unreasonable.
Children cannot be compared, and it is one of the most common mistakes parents make when they compare their child with the neighbor’s. If your child happens to be average in studies, try your best to help him improve but learn to accept it. All children are not born to be geniuses. Your child might have some other talent; look for it and develop that instead of harping on grades.
Frustration is the other side of the coin of expectation. Unreasonable expectations will lead to serious disappointment. Allow your child to grow freely within the accepted framework of society and don’t impose unnecessary standards that must be achieved. This way, you will automatically cut out child behavioral problems.
It is equally important to convey your reasonable expectation in child behavior to your child. You can formulate a set of goals in different areas of child discipline, and hold to them. Make sure to reward your children for meeting those expectations and encourage them to reach more, once they’ve reached one.
Children thrive on love and praise. Encouraged by rewards they strive to reach higher goals. Never try to impose your desires onto your children. If you couldn’t achieve your goals, don’t re-live your dreams through your children. That only creates negative environment, child behavior problems and child discipline issues. Reasonable expectations promote growth and positive self image and are an essential parenting skill.

This is the age they are constantly learning. Usually around the age of two is when parents start teaching their toddlers new skills, let it be potty training, eating on their own, sleeping on their own bed ect. It is important for a parent to spend as much quality time as they can with their kids at this age. You don’t want to miss it.
When teaching your toddler new skills, such as potty training, sleeping, ect make it fun, so they enjoy while they learn. Introduce them to activities that stimulates their mind and body.
Common issues every parent with a toddler faces
This is a big step in a toddlers life. So its important you make it a fun activity when training them to potty in their own little potty seats. You can reward them every time they do right. They are not going to learn in a day or two, accidents will happen, so be patient. Its a good idea to start training when they are two and at home. Make them feel comfortable and relaxed.
Terrible Twos There is a reason why they are called terrible twos. This is where they are learning a lot about their surroundings and they are imitating everything they learn see. For a moment everything is normal and there is peace, then you find that she is kicking and screaming on the floor because you didn’t do something her way. So how do you address the tantrums. Best way to deal with these burst of tantrums is to set rules and then stick to them.
If the toddler gets what it needs when it cries, they will not learn to communicate properly and you will have your hands full. Never give into their little tantrums. Instead teach them how to ask nicely. Reward them with love, when they behave. Don’t get mad at a kid when they cry, instead help them clam down and ask what they are asking. Be consistant. Every toddler throws tantrums, its up to you the parent to teach them.
Having trouble getting your toddler to fall asleep?
Make sleeping a fun activity, but don’t get them over excited. growing children needs lot of sleep and rest. Make sure they get amble enough sleep. You can help them by getting them comfortable beds for toddlers or even their own favorite stuffed animal.
If you have trouble keeping your toddler stay in bed, there are few things you can try. if they have a favourite toy or something they really love you can tell them they can only have that if they stay in bed and try to sleep.
If they don’t fall asleep don’t be agitated, becalm and persistent because toddlers feed of your energy. Just like with any other aspect of parenting, do what feels comfortable for you. But remember sleep is an important part in Childs development.
From foodfights to toilet training to those blessed naps, here’s how to take daily life with your toddler from defiant to delightful. Your toddler is no longer a distractible baby. Right on schedule, he’s growing up. It’s exactly what he’s supposed to be doing.
There are so many toys and learning tools are there for toddlers and parents. Let it be bedding, toys, parenting tips, food choices, potty training, health all activities can be fun and games.

What makes me maintain that Search Engines are partly to blame for babies still crying with colic?
Baby colic causes babies to cry for hours and soon causes distress for the parents too. Many of them soon learn what the problem is and then go to their computer and use a search engine hoping to get good advice on a home treatment for colic.
Give this a little thought and you’ll soon realise we all fall into this same trap and trust the search engines too much, whether we need a baby colic cure or something entirely different.
When we need information, baby or not, colic or not, whether it’s for a personal problem or to help someone else out, or because we need to write an article for publishing on a website, what do we do?
We use the search engines! And a lot of us ‘Google’ it. We do it so much that the word Google has become a verb! We tell friends with questions to ‘Google’ it. Need a home treatment for colic? Anyone could guess what you’ll do.
What I’m saying here is that we go to the pc, do a search and click on some of the resulting websites, blogs or forums to read what other folk wrote about whatever our current interest is. One current interest, for thousands of unfortunate parents, is a remedy for baby colic.
There’s a snag with this I should have thought of earlier. Maybe you already have realised but just in case you haven’t I’ll go on…It’s just software! All of those search engines we use are nothing but software. Websites, articles and blogs are shown, chosen by the search software for their relevant keywords.
Because the search engines are only software, they have no ability to judge whether an item is true. They have no way of knowing that.
Also they bring up some results from years ago. If it’s not up-to-date information then it’s quite possible that the article, item or comment is no longer true (if it ever was). Events could be happening, unknown to the writers which make old beliefs incorrect now. This seems to be the case with a remedy for baby’s colic.
This is worrying. Readers might not notice the date of the original article and just take it as present day information. This matters when a colicky baby needs a cure.
What seems to be happening a lot is quite worrying. Folk wanting or needing to write on colic cause and treatment or any subject at all, probably realise that their own knowledge is very limited, so they start by doing searches for more information!
Next, having read up on their subject, they use what they just learned to fill out their new piece of writing (taking care to change the words around and not to plagiarse.) In this way they make themselves seem to be an expert, which is not really true. This isn’t the absolute best situation for babies suffering from colic or the bleary-eyed parents trying to glean some facts.
This is why lots of babies still suffer colic and cry every night and online searchers looking for advice for their own assorted health problems might read wrong information. Wrong opinions or errors in thinking are perpetually showing up in search results and the blame lies with those ‘trusty’ search engines!
Day by day this situation can only worsen as more websites have errors in their statements. For searchers who don’t know, the websites seem to be backing each other up. So surely this stuff must be true, the searchers think. The trouble is lots of folk have written about babies having colic, thousands in fact. Parents end up believing what they keep reading.
Even inaccurate or just plain old wrong articles and comments can end up being accepted and fully believed if they’re backed up by others with the same views. A crying shame for babies suffering from colic and their sleep deprived parents though.
One happy day, fresh content is written by someone new. This is the truth, not just a belief, but the true story of her being able to cure baby colic. So now what will be the result? Depending on her proper use of the relevant keywords her website might appear on page one of some search results. Yes, she did quite well with that!
However, her lone voice stating the most helpful facts as she knows them, is in direct opposition to many other webites who are right up there on page one of the search results. Who is the reader likely to believe? She cannot be the first one to have been in this situation, trying to help and advise folk who find it hard to believe her.
I do feel that the search engines and their inability to discern are partly to blame for crying babies still suffering from colic.

I have found that there is something very interesting about writing. If you are going to go to the trouble of actually putting your thoughts down on paper, the thoughts should be well thought out!
When you hit your mid 40’s you begin to think about different things that you did when you were in your twenties and thirties (Not to mention your teens!). I recently begin to wonder how I would be remembered. How would my kids think about me and talk about me after I was gone? Would the things I believe in and stood for be passed on to them?
When these thought occurred to me, I grabbed a pen and began to write a list of the things I wanted to make sure my kids knew about life before I passed on. Over the next few days, I will do my best to share with you my thoughts on this subject.
Have you ever noticed that life seems to get more and more serious every day? It’s almost as if people have lost their sense of humor. Work is more serious. School is more serious. Athletics are more serious. Heck, even play time is more serious.
We are all very busy, but we need to take time every day just to have fun.
A few nights ago I saw my kids goofing around in the living room. There was a big stack of dishes to wash, but they could wait. This was any opportunity to have some great fun.
I went flying into the other room, waving my dish towel over my head and screaming a pretend war cry as loud as I could. Thirty minutes of craziness later and we were all dead tired, but it was great fun!
Later that night I had the chance to reflect on what had happened and I realized that one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the ability have spontaneous fun. As parent we are terrific at teaching our kids how to live responsibly, how to get all of their work done but we need to spend just as much time teaching them how not to get their work done, how to just have fun. After all, isn’t that what being a kid is all about?

The child that has ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is gifted. This special child is creative and spontaneous with the ability to hyper focus on any interesting task.
On the other hand, parents are often faced with the difficulty of dealing with a child that is often impulsive, aggressive, hyper and easily distractible. The outside world uses these character traits to define the ADHD child as “difficult”, damaging fragile self-esteem.
Children are frequently distracted or inattentive and often impulsive on occasion, but a child living with ADHD experiences these attributes most of the time. A parent has a great deal of influence in helping their child perceive these character traits as advantageous, not a liability.
In spite of its name, ADHD is not only a lack of attentiveness but the ability to exert more focused attention on a chosen topic. Those with ADHD don’t lack focus but often focus inappropriately. They have little tolerance for inactivity and are bored quickly.
A sport can be either a positive or nonconstructive experience for all children, but for the ADHD child even more so. Spending excess energy is always good for the ADHD child; however, playing on a team can be difficult for her if she can’t learn the rules of play or fulfill the role the team needs.
Tae kwon do, a martial art, can be a tremendously beneficial for the ADHD child as it permits controlled aggressive behavior in a safe environment. An instructor provides direction that is immediately followed so that it retains relevance and gives instant satisfaction.
Tae kwon do stresses self-confidence and control which, when mastered, raises self-esteem for any student. ADHD children can benefit from this type of instruction because it increases confidence and they learn to see what some call negative character traits as positive attributes.
Part of tae kwon do instruction is the philosophy of “right action” which is to reach a point where you inherently know how to react in a situation with no thought. This teaching helps the impulsive ADHD child curb those impulses. Classes are exciting with lots of jumping, kicking, spinning and punching so boredom is never an issue. Hyperactivity doesn’t exist in a tae kwon do class. Action is rewarded.
Another aspect of tae kwon do training is tolerance and respect for everyone no matter what label society might have imposed.
ADHD is not exclusive to boys. Girls are more often diagnosed with ADD which is the same issue without the hyperactivity in equal numbers to boys with ADHD. This “difference”, because it’s not exactly a disorder, is genetic. A rather large study discovered that 25% of ADHD children have one parent with Attention Deficit.
You do not outgrow ADHD, so finding ways to mitigate its negative influences is critical to your child’s success. Give them the opportunity to learn how to turn these traits into advantages that can carry them throughout life.
Remember that the ADHD child carries positive traits that are often cultivated by successful businesspeople, entrepreneurs and athletes. Spontaneity, creativity, fast thinking, intense concentration, tenacity and high energy describe the most successful in our history like Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison and Mozart. That’s good company.

There are plenty of ways for infertility treatment. Some may have used the expensive in-vitro fertilization procedures. Some got their sperm from sperm donation banks, some are using other medications to treat infertility. There is one method you can used to get a baby instantly without pain and needles. Have you consider adopting a baby? I have some tips for you.
I have to confess, it is not the usual infertility treatment procedure that you are familiar with. However, it does give an answer for you as a couple to have kids, which may be the last attempt to have kids. Having kids this manner is rather destiny for couple to start a family fast.
You have to consider some factors when attempting this method:
Not Pain Being Experienced
You will not experience any pain as there is not need for needles and medication, not to mention side-effects as it is painless. However, you will face some temporary emotional imbalance as you make one of the most decision when adopting this action.
It May Not Be Reachable For Some Couple As It Is Not Cheap
Your insurance company may not cover your infertility treatment, which may leads to huge medical expenses. Also, the costs associated with an adoption are not easily to predict that it may include extensive paperwork, traveling expenses and not forgetting stocking up of babies food and other supplies.
It is Not Simple
It can be quite tough to include the adopted child culture and traditions especially they are different from yours. The child heritage holidays, names, food and clothings are areas you have to think about if you are thinking of preserving the baby’s heritage.
This Method Is Not Guaranteed
But neither is any infertility treatment. You have to check your financial status before your adoption is granted. Furthermore, if the baby has any disabilities, you might change your mind about it.
Also, you may have difficulty trying to convince yourself, your other kids and fellow family members on the notion of adoption. However, once they know you have been trying to have a baby due to a series of infertility treatment, they might accept your decision. They may even warned you that you may face challenges that this adopted child to fit in with other siblings and grandparents.
You Are Being Rewarded
With all the pros and cons weighing and the realities of adoption accepted, it can be an immensely satisfying experience for families who choose to go ahead with adoption. The happiness of giving a child a home is not measurable by money. Furthermore, more pregnancy cases are reported for couples who adopted child as though it is their own. This is not a miracle, but because their mind, body and soul were more at peace.
