When a young adult starts college, they have very little life experience. They have not had to make that many important decisions, and they have not had to be accountable for many of those decisions. A lot of these young adults are looking towards life or personal coaches. These are not just young adults who are looking to shirk responsibility, these are future leaders that need help to enhance their personal development.
If you have a child that is out of the house and away at university, having them utilize personal coaching can be of great benefit to help them through college. Children who have left the house many times ignore or dismiss the advice that their parents give them as they desire to make their own decisions. A personal coach may help them in areas of their lives that otherwise the student may have ignored because the parents had previously tried to impart advice.
When a parent hires a coach for their child the personal coaching should be done in complete privacy. The need for privacy is important for young adults, and their trust and confidence in their own decisions will increase as they continue to make them. As difficult as it may be for parents to sit back and let their child come to them instead of getting involved in their personal coaching, it is important that they do so.
Personal coaching is also beneficial to young adults in the sense that it generates greater responsibility without the same amount of pressure. With a personal coach involved one feels that another person is invested in the issues that they are dealing with. This allows these student to bounce ideas off someone, and have extra help in strategizing the completion of important tasks.
A good mentor will make an individual feel as if he is receiving assistance throughout the events of the day. However, personal coaches are not actually intervening in any manner. Such persons merely aid in scheduling and planning methods of achieving goals. These abilities combined with minimization of negative tasks greatly simplify corporate life. Therefore, when things get done, and promotions given, the individual can fully appreciate their own accomplishments.
Personal coaches can provide great benefit to young adults with high potential but inadequate motivation or intrinsic direction. They can help these young people get through college. While doing so, they are enhancing the personal development of future leaders.

Children who have left the house many times ignore or dismiss the advice that their parents give them as they desire to make their own decisions. These are not just 18 – 20 year olds that are not ready to be responsible for themselves. Later in life, these lessons help generate greater responsibility without pressure. Remember that personal development is what points young people in the right direction to become future leaders.
