Best Babysitter Agency Tips

Posted by Rashel Dan on May 24, 2008
by Rashel Dan

A babysitter agency is not always the answer to all your prayers. If you aren’t careful, an agency can also be the cause of terrible headaches for you. Finding a good agency is as important as finding the right nanny or sitter. Here are some important tips to consider when looking for an agency.

See References – Always check the references of the agency itself. Find out through online message boards if it is a company that many people would recommend. Check too the track record of the company. Find out if it has been in the business of providing sitters to families for a long time and if there are instance of major client complaints.

Compare Agencies – Compare as many agencies as you can. You can easily do this through the internet. Many agencies have online sites that you can access. This will give you an idea which agency has the most convenient system and the most complete service.

List of Services – Go through an agency’s list of services one by one. Find out if they have everything you need or if they are missing some crucial service. Important services to consider are thorough background investigation and reference checks.

The Price – Never fail to ask a babysitter agency about the total cost. Be careful. Some agencies have lists of fees that do not include other possible costs. There may be some hidden fees that you may not know about. Always ask an agency for the complete breakdown and total of costs, including possible sitter replacement fees.

Sitter Arrangements – Ask too about arrangements for the sitter. Once you pick a sitter, find out if you would have to spend on transportation fees. Consider in advance if you would want a stay in sitter or one that would stay out. Not every agency provides both types of sitters.

Parent Participation – Find out how much you will be involved. Some agencies will let you participate actively in the screening process. They could provide you with an opportunity to interview possible sitters. There are also some agencies that can do the screening for you so all you have to do is to wait for the sitter chosen by the agency. The agency type that you choose will depend on your own personal preferences.

Agency Guarantees – Ask about guarantees. How far will an agency be willing to accommodate your preferences with the least degree of inconvenience on your part? Will they replace sitters you are not happy with at no extra charge? What will happen if a sitter has to go home for personal reasons?

Disadvantages – One disadvantage of a lot of agencies is the steep cost. Always be prepared to spend a lot on an agency is you want good service and a good sitter.

Trustworthy babysitting agencies do exist. However, you have to be careful. You don’t want to end up with the wrong babysitter agency. The wrong agency will not just be a waste of your money. It can also endanger your kids and your home by giving you a sitter who is either incapable or dangerous.

Wedding Plan Tips For The Perfect Wedding Day

Posted by Jenny Palmer on May 22, 2008
by Jenny Palmer

Wedding plans and marriage arrangements will never be complete and would go on and on even till the marriage function is over. New ideas usually pop up in the last moment and make the process even more complicated. But following few wedding plan tips can be of great use and the marriage function can be made successful this way. It is also essential to see to that the wedding plan tips you follow should also be practical and simple. The point is that it should help you in making the process simple and does not work the other way. Below listed are few tips which would help you in making the process simple and the occasion even more grand and organized.

One of the most common guideline in all the wedding plan tips is the one on preparing the checklist. Once you prepare the checklist you will be able to keep track of the progress of the preparations. However, the number of items in the checklist will keep increasing till the marriage day. Once you have created a checklist you must organize the list otherwise an uncategorized list can create a lot of confusion. Group different items under respective heading such as catering, music, photography etc. Keep checking off all the items that you complete.

Most of the wedding plan tips will not talk about the secondary list you need to form of your primary checklist. The secondary list should be categorized in terms of the places you may have to visit for the marriage preparation. When you have such a list then you will be able to club tasks those have to be accomplished in the same area and you will save both your energy and time.

All of us would like our wedding day to be a grand one without any mess ups so we tend to spend a lot of time on trivial things. So the next in the wedding plan tips is follow the rule of simplicity. There is always beauty in simple things. Just the wedding process itself can bring in a lot of tension, if you complicate it further with other trivial things then it can become too much to handle. You will become too tired to enjoy your marriage day.

One of the basic wedding plan tips is to start the preparations in good time. The marriage preparation should start at least one year in advance. One of the advantages of starting the preparations early is that it will give you the kind of time one needs to get mentally prepared for the great day.

Getting help for jobs which can be done by anyone should certainly be delegated. Spending time such tasks would be a waste. This is one important point amongst various other wedding plan tips. You can just supervise the tasks and give your comments and input. This would reduce the physical and mental pressure to a certain extent and would help you in enjoying the marriage function.

Besides getting help from your family and close friends you can also hire attendants to help you out on various tasks. In your checklist for the marriage preparation mark out the tasks those can be done by hired assistants. Having the work split up this way is one of the best wedding plan tips that you can follow. This will reduce a considerable amount of pressure off your back.

One can easily miss out the whole point in the maze of tasks to be accomplished that what they are preparing is their marriage day jumping from one task to the other. Unless one reminds themselves often, the entire preparation phase will become another work to be completed and hence they will not enjoy going through this phase. Above all wedding plan tips however practical they may be, the important point to be remembered is that you are preparing for a day that has to be remembered by you for life. You need to stay in touch with yourself and listen to yourself closely during your marriage preparation and your inner feelings will override all wedding plan tips you get online.

Pass on Wisdom to Your Children

Posted by Marty Lee Parker on May 22, 2008
by Marty Lee Parker

Everything that you have achieved up to this point in your life, you owe to the little voices in your head. Your personality is built from certain mantras, quotes and philosophies that you have gained throughout your life. You use them to make smart and wise decisions in your life. Actually recalling what these little voices say so that you can pass them on to your children can be tricky.

Just realizing that you have smart things to say to your kids does help them out any. You need to actually communicate your wisdom with them. To do this, set up a specific time every day that you can share your knowledge with your children.

One of the best times to share your wisdom with your children is at the dinner table. They are in a captured environment and are forced to listen to your stories. They also have time to contemplate what you are saying.

This deadline that you have created will be what will drive you to come up with some of the secrets of life that have helped you in your life. Without the pressure and committing to sharing your knowledge at a specific time, you will be less likely to think of all those smart words of wisdom that have helped you out in your life.

Share these tid-bits with your kids:

- If you are about ready to say something bad about someone, act like they are right beside you.

- The Law will catch you if you break it. Someday, someway, someone will find out and you will go to jail.

- Mistakes are our greatest teachers, so don’t be afraid to make one.

Do not worry about making your wisdom sound pretty. As long as your kids get the idea then you are on the right track. The sure fact that they heard the wisdom from you is what makes it stay with them.

Here is one little tid-bit of wisdom that you can share with your children that will help them become in high demand when they start to enter the work force and is a secret that will get them multitudes of repeat business.

ALWAYS GIVE THEM AN “ALSO”

When they are washing a car for money, tell them to “also” sweep out the car. If they are getting paid to paint a house, tell them to paint the house and “also” clean the brushes when they are done. This is the cheapest form of advertising.

Fun Home School Projects

Posted by Diane Noble on May 22, 2008
by Diane Noble

When you decide to homeschool your child, you are committing to taking charge of your child’s education. There are many amazing benefits to homeschooling, but the responsibility and time commitment is significant as well. You probably need to spend a good amount of time planning lessons and units. A great way to end a unit is with a project. Projects help children sum up, review and implement everything they have learned.

Here’s an example of how to organize a project with your child. Let’s assume you’ve just finished a biology unit, a great week long project might be to create an ecosystem in an aquarium. The goal will be to create an environment that can be self-sufficient in the sealed aquarium. While learning about the different cycles of nature, encourage your child to think of the most efficient way to create the ecosystem. Your child can think of ways that nature is efficient and try to mimic these characteristics to create a sustainable and efficient environment.

Teach your child to spend a good amount of time planning before taking any further steps. Planning is often the part of the project children like to skip over or hurry along so they could get to the fun part. But teach your child the popular saying: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.“ Reinforcing the need to plan for a project will help your child establish this good habit for all future endeavours.

After your child is done detailing the plan, it’s time to gather the supplies. You child should have a list of supplies needed to put together the ecosystem. You can offer your child some assistance in setting up the aquarium but allow your child to do as much of the work on their own as possible. It much more useful for a child’s self-esteem to end up with a mediocre project they created all on their own, than to end up with a tidy and well done project that they know required someone else’s skills to pull off.

Once the aquarium is set up, have your child track progress everyday. This will help build observation and recording skills. You child can learn how to use different types of charts and graphs to keep track of the project results. It’s important to teach your child that projects require step by step work and for your child to eventually internalize these organizational steps.

Homeschooling families are not limited by the practicalities necessary in public schools. Project ideas can be as diverse and far reaching as your imagination. For each unit, encourage your child to brainstorm a list of long term project ideas based on what they have learned. Allowing your children to come up with their own project ideas will not only trigger their creativity, it will also make them feel like they have a say in their education. This will make them more enthusiastic and excited about their learning and make for a more successful homeschooling experience.

Various types of Allergic Reaction

Posted by Syahrul Azlan on May 21, 2008
by Syahrul Azlan

Allergy is an exaggerated reaction of the immune system to antigens. Bee stings, insect stings, some food, or pollens are examples of an antigen. Each antigen triggers specific allergy attack and is manifested distinctly by each person. It is of frequent occurrence nowadays.

Allergy can be mild or severe in nature. It is mild when its symptoms are not alarming and with minimal intervention and elimination of the allergen you’ll be well. But if a person is experiencing breathing difficulty and altered level of consciousness due to an allergic response, he is in severe case of allergy which is a life threatening condition known as anaphylaxis.

Hay fever is a seasonal allergic rhinitis, a type of allergic reaction. This type of allergy is triggered by pollen and other minute particles that are present at specific seasons. On occasion, this allergic rhinitis is seen all throughout the year.

Insect stings allergic reaction is very common type of allergy. Despite that, the severity of its reaction to each person varies. Usually the person is unaware that he is allergic to this antigen until he was stung by an insect. Most of the time allergic reactions results to second time insect sting whereas the first incident would usually result to ordinary sting reaction.

Another type of allergy is to latex. The person is allergic to materials made of natural latex like condoms and medical devices. But the major cause is the mostly used medical barrier which is the latex gloves.

Another types of allergic reactions are the irritant contact dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis, these could we get from the ingredients in the cosmetics we used like fragrances and preservatives. With cosmetic allergy you will experience skin irritation. Mold allergy is another allergy that does not have exact season as mold and fungi grow in all weather and thrive both indoors and outdoors. Some forms of outdoor mold tend to grow in higher concentrations from spring to late fall.

Allergies to pets by some people are not really due to its feather or fur but because of the dander, the invisible animal skin flakes, produces sneezing, watery eyes, and stuffy nose.

Food allergies are due to sensitivity of some to the ingredients of the food taken. Manifestations include hives, throat and tongue swelling, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and hypotension.

7 tips for baby showers

Posted by Emma Costello on May 18, 2008
by Emma Costello

Planning a successful baby shower

Baby showers can be a lot of fun, especially for the pregnant mom-to-be. Not only is this something for the baby, but now she doesn’t have to go out and buy. Before you throw a baby shower for someone there are a few things you should do to prepare. The first thing is figure out if this will be a surprise shower or not. There are benefits to both, the first one being if the mom to be knows she can help you with a list of people that she would like to be there. However, if it is a surprise she’ll be touched that you cared enough to throw her a baby shower, but be careful you don’t want to give her too much of surprise and put her in labor!

Making the Guest List When it comes to making the guest list things can get a little tricky. Find out if there is anyone that would be upset if they weren’t invited. Never leave out close family or friends. At least give them the option of showing up even if you don’t like them !

Games Planning: It can be difficult to choose the best games as there are so many available.Choose wisely and make sure you have a few gifts as prizes. Baby shower games are a lot of fun, here is a quick list.

Mommy’s belly- The mom-to-be stands in the center of the room and each guest gets to decide how big her belly is using a string or a toilet paper sheets. Find out who guessed the closest.

Guess the nursery rhyme- Give each guest a sheet of nursery rhymes and have them guess the nursery rhyme or finish it. This will help everyone remember them and see who reads those bedtime stories to the lucky baby !

Did you say Baby Game?- Each guest is given small clothes pin to wear around their neck on a necklace or on their shirt. Every time someone says “Baby” if someone catches them they get to take one pin. At the end of the party the guest with the most pins wins a prize.

Memory- Using a plastic tin of some sort place a bunch of baby items in it such as, bib, thermometer, baby spoon, diaper rash crme, etc. Anything you’d use on a baby. Let each guest get a chance to look in the bin for a few seconds and take it away. Once everyone is finished have them write down everything that was in the box. The person with the most correct answers wins.

Baby Food Tasting – Have a variety of baby food in jars, take off the outside wrapper and place a number at the bottom of the jar, on a separate piece of paper write the name of each jar. Each guest is dished out a spoonful of baby food to try. Have them write down what they think each one is. The one with the most correct answers wins a prize.

Have a really enjoyable baby shower and ,if you’re a guest don’t forget to bring a gift !

What is ADHD and How do You Manage it?

Posted by Dr. Noel Swanson on May 17, 2008
by Dr. Noel Swanson

There are some children who suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The symptoms exhibited by these children are:

1) Poor attention span and concentration – unless totally engrossed in something (like a computer game).

2) Poor concentration and memory

3) Impulsivity – doing things without thinking first

4) Easily frustrated – often leading to temper tantrums and outbursts

The above traits are even shown by people who are not suffering from ADHD. Because of ADHD children suffer in various fields and activities in and out of school. They have to face defeat and failure in various areas like:

a) at school (they are not able to pay attention or finish their work in time or they can be disruptive and destructive in class, may be talking excessively in the class )

b) at home (often distracted, therefore not getting chores finished, constantly talking, “hyperactive”, getting into fights with siblings, difficulty getting ready in the mornings and at night, often clumsy), and

c) socially (unable to take turns or wait in line, bossy and overbearing, easily frustrated leading to temper outbursts and aggression, impulsive, so often in trouble for doing antisocial actions e.g. unwise “practical jokes”).

It would not be appropriate to include ADHD as an injuries or a disease as its onset is not dependent on a germ or any specific physical malfunction. This comes into effect only as a result of some part of the brain not working at peak efficiency and not contributing totally.

ADHD can be called a hereditary condition, where parents and children show similar symptoms. The symptoms and the ADHD condition does not go away in short span of time and takes a long time to get under control. Sometimes children suffer from ADHD through their teens into their adulthood also.

HOW IS ADHD MANAGED?

Children suffering from ADHD can get long term complications which may run into their adulthood as well. These complications could be:

a) Their fear of failure at school owing to poor concentration, leading to school drop out

b) Are constantly in trouble because of their impulsive behavior

c) Their fear of taking recourse to anti-depressants such as drinks, drugs, crime etc to avoid getting anxious and depressed.

All of these, in turn, can lead to long term complications that affect functioning in adulthood.

The goal of management is, therefore, to prevent complications. This is a long term process, so the most important people to take charge of this are the parents. It is you as parents who have to live with the child, you who are most concerned about his/her long term well-being, and you who know your child best. If you do not take an active role in managing the difficulties then whatever else other people do will be unlikely to make much difference. However, if you do your part then there is much that others can do to help you along the way. Effective management is likely to include the following components:

COMMITTED PARENTS. These are parents who work wholeheartedly towards the betterment of the child. There is more than adequate information available in the form of books and videos to guide parents on how o assist their ADHD afflicted child. They just need to buy or borrow these read them and be better informed abut this so as to be effective. It is good to discuss what you read with a professional or a local support group as there is a lot of mis-information on this subject. This is especially from self professed guru’s who profess magic-cures for your child.

GOOD COMMUNICATION between home, school and other professionals. This especially applies to home and school, so do all that you can to meet regularly with the school to work together on solutions for your child.

ADJUSTMENTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT. Children with ADHD do best in a quiet, calm, structured, low-stimulation environment (e.g. one to one) and poorly in chaotic situations (e.g. busy classrooms, noisy, busy homes). As a family you may want to find ways to reorganise life so that it is less stressful for all of you. At school the teachers will be doing the same, and it is best if the two can be co-ordinated.

CLEAR BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT STRATEGY. These children respond best to very clear expectations of behavior, and very clear rewards and punishments – with rewards being more frequent than punishments. If you are having difficulty in doing this at home you may want to talk about some strategies with your key worker.

PARENTAL SUPPORT. Since getting along wit these children and bringing them up takes a lot of doing , the parents themselves are likely to get depressed and break up. To avoid marriages to break up and to maintain harmony, it is advisable for parents themselves to seek assistance from parent support groups, parent training groups, respite care, marital counseling, family therapy are such support groups and organizations.

MEDICATION. While there is no medicinal cure for this affliction, medicines do help in reducing the symptoms. If these symptoms are reduced, the child gets an opportunity to learn social behavior, academic knowledge and other skills. Medication is not a cure, but can be an invaluable help. To ensure that the right medicine and in the correct dosage is provided, you would need to consult a professional worker.

There are several types of medication that are used. The most common are the “stimulants” (discussed on the next page), but increasingly common is the new medication atomoxetine, which seems to work very well with few side effects. Ask your doctor for full information.

As health professionals we cannot raise your child for you, nor can we solve all your problems as you travel with your child along life’s journey. What we can do, however, is to assist you in getting unstuck when you get stuck along the way. We will try to help you to sort out all of the above points as best you can.

But, in the end, it is you and your family who have to live with it, and so the more you learn about it, and the more you learn the best ways to manage it, the better your chances of a good outcome.

Could YOU Homeschool?

Posted by Phyllis Wheeler on May 17, 2008
by Phyllis Wheeler

I am guessing you aren’t happy with the schooling your kids are getting, for whatever reason. You’ve suggested homeschooling to yourself. But you can’t imagine yourself doing it because you aren’t superwoman, able to juggle lessons and other mom duties.

Take it from a homeschooling veteran, you can do it IF you love your kids. That’s the only qualification. As you move through the homeschooling journey, you will develop the skills you need, as you need them. That’s how jugglers start–juggling just one thing. Then they add another, and after a while another.

Homeschooling may even be easier than not homeschooling. Instead of driving your several children to several same-age activities after school, you’ll be able to concentrate on activities you can all do together.

Instead of spending evenings helping with homework, you will spend mornings going over academic subjects, using curriculums that are tailored for self-study. Your evenings will open up.

If you have a large family, you’ll probably want to rely on unit studies. These are studies of large topics, such as ancient Egypt, which can be treated differently for kids of different ages. You can read all of them a novel about ancient Egypt, for instance Mara, Daughter of the Nile. A younger child would write a sentence about it, and an older one a three-page paper with bibliography. The kids can do art projects and learn about measuring the height of pyramids using similar triangles. The unit might last a month or so. There are many available for purchase on the homeschool curriculum market.

You can expect to use workbooks and curriculum made for homeschoolers, to make sure your child learns what he should for his age and grade. Typically these curriculums include an answer key–you don’t need to be the expert. In fact, homeschoolers become adept at learning from the book, rather than from a teacher. Their reading skills are well prepared for college.

Correspondence schools will teach your child, too. These can take the form of videos, workbooks, or online.

You probably wonder what homeschoolers typically do during the course of a day. Many do the studying in the morning, and spend the afternoon playing or doing projects. Sometimes they sign up for daytime classes for homeschoolers, which are becoming more popular these days. You can even send your kids to organized sports with the local school teams in the late afternoon. But be careful about signing up for too much. It could lead to burnout.

But you do want your children to be “socialized.” Here’s a question homeschoolers get all the time: “Aren’t you worried about socialization for your child?” Here’s the answer: you have the ability to choose whom your child socializes with, unlike parents of schooled children. You do have to go out of your way to set it up. And you can count socialization with adults–that’s the best kind, after all. Adults are generally well-mannered and kind. Unsupervised schoolkids often are not. Homeschooled kids are usually quite comfortable talking to adults! Don’t you want your kids to be like that?

A homeschool co-op is one of the best solutions to the need for socialization. If you meet once a week with other homeschoolers for class or field trips, your child gets well-supervised social interaction, and can learn and grow socially in a way that a schooled child cannot. Bullying is simply not a problem for homeschoolers! So how do you find a co-op? You have to ask other homeschoolers. If your area has a homeschooling convention, by all means go to it, and go to workshops if they have any. You need to network with other homeschoolers until you find or can create a co-op.

Something else you will need is support. You need someone to talk to who is going through the same challenges. The Internet has been quite a blessing to homeschool moms, who can support each other online. There are many discussion forums attached to homeschooling Web sites, for instance, www.welltrainedmind.com. There are email groups for homechoolers too–look through the groups at groups.yahoo.com.

The answer to the homeschooling question is simple: yes, you can do it.

A Guide To Computer Parental Controls

Posted by Chris Channing on May 15, 2008
by Chris Channing

A parental control can give parents a little help in raising their children in an increasingly dangerous society. Such controls can be obtained for televisions, computers, and other devices. But when it comes to the most dangerous source of all, the Internet itself remains to be one of the biggest threats to a child’s safety. In such cases, parents should exhaust all options in finding a worthy parental control program.

Out of all the different features that a piece of parental control software can accomplish, the ability to monitor a computer screen remotely remains to be of the most helpful. After all, parents don’t always have time to stay right by the child’s side when having them access the Internet. Instead, this remote monitoring tool can be used to view the screen the child is interacting with on a separate computer in a different room entirely.

Perhaps the most dangerous of all the Internet dangers is the Internet predator. An Internet predator is especially dangerous since they often try to trick children into thinking they are children as well- and they may try other cunning tricks they have thought up. An online parental control tool can block access to websites that might harbor such threats, not to mention several chat tools can help parents wage their war against online predators.

Children aren’t the only ones to gain benefit from a parental control tool. Viruses, malware, and other atrocities will be less likely to get through to one’s computer if there is a strong parental control filter guarding against such attacks. Filters will be able to scan and find problems in websites or downloaded files, and then give the go ahead when things check out. This can save consumers hundreds in repair fees, simply because of a parental control program.

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle, parents can also restrict the amount of time a child can use to access the Internet. When a child has used his or her time, they will need to find other ways to stay entertained- hopefully going outside and getting exercise that is necessary for healthy development. Parental control programs remain flexible in the sense that times can be allotted and fixed at will.

Lastly, a good parental control filter will protect a family from prosecution due to copyright infringement. Children often do not know the definition of copyright infringement, and thus will download music at will without disregard. This can turn out to be an expensive mistake, as owners of the music may seek to sue for damages in downloaded content.

In Conclusion

A strong parental control program can give parents a peace of mind in knowing that their children are safe when accessing the Internet. The benefits of having protection against a virus or spyware applications can also be well worth the investment. In the end, the small fee that most parental control programs charge for the wide range of benefits they offer is more than worth it- as it will pay for itself again and again in saved damages and repairs.

7 hot tips for telling everyone you’re pregnant.

Posted by Emma Costello on May 14, 2008
by Emma Costello

So you’re pregnant, its the most exciting time of your life and you can’t wait to tell your family, your friends, even your husband… It doesn’t matter whether you’ve just found out or you’ve waited for a month or two to make certain, you still want to make an impact. You’re delirious and you want everyone else to be too. Pregnancy is really momentous and can sometimes be fun. So start off as you mean to go on. Make pregnancy fun.

Telling the Father: Have a candle lit dinner for two.Enjoy your quiet private time. It will be one of the last times before pregnancy chages your life. Give him baby carrots, baby back ribs, baby cauliflower ,even a can of baby food. At the end, a glass of milk in a bottle instead of wine and hand him a present. Inside you can have a tiny baby bib that says, “I heart My Daddy” or a pair of baby booties or a book on raising your baby and what’s going to happen in your pregnancy.

If you can’t tell the father right away because he’s away on business for a while, or in the forces try sending him a care package. Inside the box place a few baby items, everything in blue and pink and a baby naming book in the center. Place a note on top of the book with, “I need a name soon, I’ll be here by June.” Or whenever the baby is due.Put in a list of baby names that you think are his favourite. Personally I’d recommend trying to wait until the father returns but if you can’t make the pregnancy announcement fun.

You can also see how long it takes him to figure it out. Go to the dollar store and pick up a bunch of small baby items, a bib, rattle, bottle, booties, etc. For a week, leave an item laying around the house where he is bound to find them. At the end of the week if he hasn’t figured it out yet, prepare the big gift. Have a large teddy bear sitting at the dinner table in the seat beside him, make sure there is a bib wrapped around him and maybe a sign that says:’ Hi Daddy.’

Telling Family and Friends Show up to a family gathering wearing a shirt that announces your state. These days there are a ton of shirts out there with clever sayings, “Baby on Board,” “A Bun in the Oven,” or something related to the pregnancy. The moment you walk in or take off your jacket everyone will figure it out without you ever having to say a word. Now, get ready for the tears and excitement. You’ll be answering a ton of questions.

If you already have children you may want to phone the grandparents up and tell them that the next Christmas they may want to add one more to the list. Your pregnancy is a big deal for them as well. For added excitement if you haven’t seen them for a while send a photo which shows you and your bump.

If this is the first grandchild, you may want to get a bracelet link for your mom that reads, “#1 Grandma” or grandparent t-shirts. This will not only be a great present for them but something they will cherish and love forever.

No matter when you spread the news it can be a lot of fun, just think creatively and let the pieces fall. You may even want to try catching all of it on video, so think ahead and prepare for the BIG moment, and I don’t mean the birth. These will be some of the biggest moments of your life- cherish them.
