Many parents get all worked up over infant development, they need to stop and realize every infant develops on their own time table. Infant development guidelines are an average idea and every child is different, don’t let yourself get worked up to much, it can cause undeserved anxiety.
Most parents are concerned, it’s normal, but, since their is nothing you can do to hurry the development schedule, don’t get anxious. It can actually cause your infant anxiety, and it’s way too early for a baby to start dealing with anxiety issues.
Parents need to realize that just because their child is not developing as they think they should that a doctor is probably the best answer to any concerns. In other words, you’re doctor will perform simple tests on your child as they develop from infant status to child status going through it’s own paces.
There’s a good chance that even if your child does certain things out of schedule that they are still developing normally, just at different times. It’s an average age of development and every child is a little different. Don’t be concerned if your child holds their head up later, there’s a good chance they’ll catch up quickly once they get going.
If you are overly concerned about these types of milestone, perhaps you’re already pushing your child hard for achievement. Be careful here, pressure is felt from a very early age and can cause a myriad of problems later in life.
Seek out a good pediatrician, listen to them, and enjoy your infant development instead of trying to rush, after all, you’ll only see them reach these milestone once. Children will develop at their own rate, ahead or behind, it’s their journey to adult status, embrace each step of the way.
An important part of infant development is copying. Eating, and seating your baby in a baby high chair is a part of this. Byron Jonas likes the Fisher Price high chair brand. This article, Infant Development Varies, Don’t Worry is available for free reprint.
